Kennewick man dead after being shot in hunting accident in Oregon

Wallowa County, OR

WALLOWA COUNTY, Ore.-A Kennewick man is dead after being shot on a hunting trip in Enterprise, Oregon.

Deputies with the Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to the 68000 block of Elk Mountain Road shortly after 5 p.m. on May 14.

When law enforcement and first responders arrived on scene they found a man dead from a gunshot wound.

According to the WCSO, Emanuel John Ziegler, was hunting squirrels on private property with some friends when he accidentally shot himself.

Zielgler’s family was notified of his death after the scene was secured.

There is currently no evidence to suggest that Ziegler’s death was not an accident, according to the WCSO.
